Description St Dominic’s Centre, Mayfield is seeking a temporary part- time (0.5 FTE) Speech Pathologist to join our multi-disciplinary team for 2022.



St Dominic’s School is a Catholic primary and secondary school (K-10) in the Dominican tradition, for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, have an autism spectrum diagnosis, and/or intellectual disability. We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to commence in Term 1 2022.

Essential Criteria • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology

• An understanding of the ideals and ethos of Catholic Education;

• Demonstrated experience and ability to engage and empathise with students with a disability, their families and carers

• Experience in supporting staff and families in the development of personalised planning goals and interventions for students;

• Proven capacity to design, and deliver, evidence-based therapeutic intervention for students (K-10)

• Extensive experience in administering assessments for students with disability (K-10) and tailoring evidence-base intervention to meet the needs of individuals with a disability

• Experience developing written reports and communicating these to relevant personnel

• Ability to empower others to implement and maintain strategies by providing advice and training to teaching staff and parents in the use of assistive technologies and intervention strategies for students with disabilities;

• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships with teaching and support staff;

• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team including health and educational professionals.

• NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment

• Membership with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

• Anaphylaxis certificate

•Proof of Covid vaccination status.

Conditions of EmploymentSalary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020. This position is at Level 6.
