Vacancy Summary 

This role offers an exciting opportunity for those with enthusiasm and who want to share the benefits and promote PE and school sport to primary and secondary phase children across a range of schools in the Croydon area. There are varied responsibilities involving both planning and curriculum delivery so team players with established organisational skills and good time management are welcome to join us. 

Contract - term time + 3 weeks

Post is for a fixed term until 31st August 2020 -  extension subject to future funding)


Purpose

As an affiliate of Folio Education Trust, and part of the shared services resource, the core purpose of the Croydon School Sport Partnerships is to provide primary schools (within and outside the MAT) access to appropriate training and support to improve the quality of PE and school sport across the London Borough of Croydon and increase participation. The CSSPs are also responsible for delivering the School Games across Croydon and the post holder will be expected to take a role in developing this framework, delivering events and ensuring access to high quality competitions for all schools. 

Key details of the Role

The Sport and PE Development Officer will be required to work with primary schools to improve the quality of PE & school sport by delivering appropriate training, giving advice on curriculum planning, team teaching and bespoke whole school inset, contributing to the overall CPD offer to schools. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for delivering a calendar of competitions across all key stages, including (but not limited to) a range of School Games events as well as inclusive and participation based sports festivals. They will have responsibility for all aspects of planning, organisation and delivery for the above including sourcing venues and training appropriate leaders and officials where needed.
