An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Sports Assistant to help develop and grow this important and flourishing department at St. Dominic’s Sixth Form College, an institution that was judged to be ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in May 2022.

We seek to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic sports person who will work alongside the Head of PE and Sports Coach and Coordinator to help coordinate sports events and fixtures, to increase sport participation and enrichment programmes on a Wednesday afternoon and work across the College to develop student engagement in fitness and wellbeing programmes.

The successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate a genuine and broad interest in all aspects of sport and fitness, have a passion and love for their subject and be an engaging and inspirational practitioner.  They will have a ‘pro-active’ and a ‘can-do’ approach to delivering a variety of sports in a mixed ability setting and be passionate about their subject. A wholehearted commitment to raising participation, raising sporting aspirations, encouraging wider sporting engagement and going the ‘extra mile’ are attributes we will be looking for when making an appointment to this important post.

The successful candidate will be joining a high achieving sixth form college and have the unique opportunity to develop the sporting offer broadly and holistically at St. Dominic’s.   We have excellent sporting facilities, a large sports hall and a fully equipped gym as well as a large playing field.

St. Dominic’s is an inspirational place to work. The staff team are dedicated, gifted practitioners and the students are hard-working, committed and highly motivated individuals. We promote excellence in all that we do and our culture and ethos permeates all aspects of College life.
