Due to continued growth and success, Club Cheadle Hulme (based at Cheadle Hulme High School) is looking to appoint a pro-active and dedicated Sports Centre Cleaner. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Laurus Trust family, and to play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of the Trust. Support staff work tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out all the cleaning duties of the leisure facility, including, Sports Hall, Gym, changing rooms, toilets and showers.
  • Litter pick external car park and sports pitch areas to ensure all rubbish is collected daily and to sweep the car park ensuring all leaves are cleared in the Autumn months.
  • Use equipment, machinery and cleaning materials as directed and to ensure that such equipment is maintained to a satisfactory level at all times.
  • Act as a general cleaning assistant to the School Estates staff as and when required.
  • Be responsible for the security of the site, including opening and closing the facility and operation of alarm systems.
  • Liaise with the P.E. Department on a regular basis to ensure the smooth running of day to day operations.
  • Undertake all tasks according to the Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Work to achieve targets and objectives as set-out by the Trust.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience as a Cleaner in an educational or sports facility is essential
  • You must have practical experience of using a variety of machines e.g. scrubber dryers, pressure washers and buffing machines
  • You must either possess a First Aid Qualification or be willing to undergo the relevant training
  • Strong administration and computer skills would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well within a team
  • Sound educational background including GCSE’s in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent is desirable
