The Pointer School is an Independent Christian prep and pre-prep in Blackheath, South East London. We are seeking inspirational, dedicated and passionate sports graduates to assist with all aspects of sport delivery across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young children, a commitment to the school ethos and coaching experience in at least two sports. The position would suit someone with a Sports Science, sports-related degree, BTEC Sport or equivalent who has a passion for sport and is committed to developing talent. 

The role involves coaching pupils during playtimes, assisting with curriculum PE lessons and leading co-curricular clubs. The role involves close working relationship with the Head of Sport.

We invite applications from those who may be considering a career in sport or teaching but we equally welcome interest from those as yet unsure of their professional aspirations. This will be an outstanding opportunity for a recent graduate to hone their coaching and teaching skills in a leading independent prep school.

This position is from September 2024 and is a one-year fixed contract (with possibility to extend).

Salary: The Pointer School Pay Scale (£20,000-£26,000, depending on experience)

The Pointer School is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of students and young people and expects the same from its employees. All new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Please also note that the school carries out online searches for on candidates invited to interview, in line with Safegurading regulations.

This position is from September 2023 and is full-time (09.30am-17.30pm)
