Rutherford House School in South West London is looking to appoint a motivated and experienced Sports Lead teacher / Coach to be a part of our committed and forward-thinking primary team. We are looking for an inspirational person, who is passionate about sports, to join our wonderful team of support staff. This role would involve providing outstanding sports lessons for whole classes. The person would support the school in attending sporting events, tournaments and fixtures, organise competitions and whole school events and provide after school sports activities for groups of pupils

This is a real opportunity for a talented teacher/ coach to develop their teaching and leadership potential in a unique setting. We are looking to appoint an individual with a positive outlook and a proactive attitude, ready to make a difference at Rutherford House School. The right candidate must love working with children, and understand the hard work needed to be part of a successful and evolving school. They will have the ability to teach P.E and Games throughout the school from Reception to Year 6 and be expected to contribute to our extensive whole school extra-curricular sports programme. The successful applicant must have teaching and coaching experience in a range of sports.

 Our ideal candidate will be able to deliver inspirational sports lessons and be committed to excellence, inclusion and challenge. Our outstanding candidate will have the strong interpersonal skills to foster links between the school, home and wider community and the skill set to train pupils to successfully participate in fixtures and tournaments.

The role of Sports Lead teacher / Coach will have a major impact on the children’s lives through delivering high quality teaching and learning. We are looking for someone who:

·      Has recent successful teaching experience preferably across different phases and in at least one inner city multi-cultural school.

·      Has proven experience of high standards of primary sports teaching, including how to adapt learning for pupils who may be vulnerable to underachievement or have SEND

·      Has respect for the views of parents and a commitment to the importance of the involvement of parents in the sporting process, and has experience of managing conversations with parents about children’s abilities and progress.

·       Shows evidence of a commitment to excellence and the maximising of sporting and personal achievement for all pupils, regardless of their background.
