Standards Officer

Accountable to: Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Education
Place of Work: Head Office, Southampton with travel across the South Coast

We are looking for an inspirational school leader, who is able to join our team of Standards Officers.  You will be part of a dedicated and motivated Education Team, whose focus is improving our schools so that all pupils fulfil their potential.

Of our 31 academy schools, based along the central south coast from Portsmouth to Southampton and into Poole, 29 are primary. You will therefore need extensive school improvement experience in primary education and, ideally, some secondary experience.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO (Education), you should be an exceptional leader who:

• Can evidence how you have improved schools
• Is an experienced and proven Headteacher
• Is a role model and champion for teaching and learning 
• Is ambitious and passionate about raising standards and improving educational life chances 
• Is highly motivated and committed to the growth and development of all our schools
• Has the vision, tenacity and drive to inspire and guide our Headteachers and senior leaders 
• Has an understanding of a wide range of effective inspection, evaluation and school improvement strategies, with a strong knowledge of the Ofsted framework.

The key responsibilities of this role are to continuously improve standards in our schools and support school improvement in getting all schools to good and moving good schools to outstanding:

• Securing the best outcomes for students in our schools
• Ensuring pupils are safe and well cared for
• Helping to develop and use data systems to track and monitor student achievement and progress in all subjects and to ensure all schools can access relevant, accurate data to inform planning and support 
• Supporting the development of systems to enable sharing of good practice across our trusts
• Leading by example as a professional, achieving high standards and expectations of all schools
