Beths Grammar School is a large multi-cultural school on the borders between London and Kent serving a wide range of vibrant and exciting communities.  We specialise in boys' education in the main school and have a large, co-educational 6th form.

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Physics, who is looking to make an impact at a whole-school level.

This is an exciting new role for a talented and ambitious teacher seeking career progression.  The STEM Lead will report to the Head of Science and work alongside other key members of the Science Department such as the Heads of Physics and Chemistry as well as the Key Stage 3 Science Co-ordinator.  In addition to this, the STEM Lead will collaborate with the Heads of Mathematics, Design Technology and Computing to develop cross-curricular links.

At Beths we are passionate about education and believe that we need to be inspirational to support our drive to further raise standards of achievement within the three Sciences to GCSE and towards our mixed Sixth Form to A Level.  Our outstanding Science Department has a proven track record of embracing innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

The successful applicant will be able to teach Physics to A Level and contribute to KS3 Science, the enrichment programme and support our drive to further raise standards of achievement at Beths Grammar School.  It would also be desirable of the successful candidate could contribute, or learn to contribute, to the teaching of Electronics.

As a new member of staff, you will receive a laptop as part of your joining package.

As STEM Lead and Teacher of Physics you will:

be a graduate with a good honours degree in a relevant discipline

be a qualified teacher or  teacher beginning their career

be an outstanding classroom practitioner/have the potential and drive to become outstanding

the ability to plan and deliver lessons which fulfill appropriate learning objectives

an enthusiasm for Physics and Science in general and the ability to transmit this to students

the ability to create your own resources and willingness to share good practice with other colleagues

Beths Grammar School is a popular selective boy’s grammar school with a co-ed sixth form and academy status.
