Job overview

The Jack & Jill Family of Schools is an outstanding Ofsted rated, family-run independent school with thriving Early Years, Pre-Prep and Prep facilities at our schools in Twickenham, Hampton and Hampton Hill. We are looking for a STEM Lead to join our team where every child is encouraged to achieve his or her full potential in a dynamic and creative environment.

You will work across the Family of Schools, driving innovation in the School’s STEM teaching and learning so that its content and delivery is inspirational and the foundation of our pupils’ future life experiences. You will be responsible for planning and leading staff professional development in STEM subjects, leading learning in each of the schools for science, technology and engineering, whilst working alongside our experienced maths lead.

You will be responsible for some teaching of computing and design and technology at Clarence House Preparatory School (CHPS), a high achieving, knowledge-led preparatory school for girls aged 7-11, based in Hampton Hill, Middlesex, specialising in S.T.E.M subjects, with a science laboratory and makerspace.

You must be passionate about these subjects, with a proven track record in achieving high standards of teaching and learning in STEM subjects. You will be heavily involved in our after-school provision across the Family of Schools to ensure it covers exciting and innovative STEM projects.

Above all, you want to be excited to be part of a Family of Schools that are justifiably proud of their reputation and offer a fantastic learning environment and exciting curricula for children aged 2-11.

This role is full time but we will consider part time applications.

We are committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to complete a full DBS check.

If you are interested in this role, please complete the application form that can be found on the School website (https://jackandjillschool.org.uk) and email to hr@jackandjillschool.org.uk

The closing date for applications is 2 December 2022. Please note that in line with safer recruitment guidance, we do not accept CVs.

Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to unsuccessful applicants so only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Welcome to the Jack and Jill Family of Schools – a group of schools that has been providing education for young children since 1951 and is now one of the very few remaining family run educational establishments in the UK:

  • Jack & Jill Nursery (Twickenham)
  • Nightingale House Pre-Preparatory School (Hampton)
  • Clarence House Preparatory School (Hampton Hill)

All Jack and Jill schools focus on achieving high standards in both behaviour and academic performance within the close supportive ‘family’ environment and through a broad and balanced academic curriculum. Emphasis is placed upon acceleration in English and Maths as well as development of effective working practices, diligence and the sheer joy of learning.

We believe that quality education and care during a child’s precious formative years ensures a happy and memorable experience and provides an enduring, unparalleled foundation for life. From the day a child is entrusted to our care, his or her needs in all areas are paramount.

The Jack & Jill Family of Schools achieved Ofsted ‘outstanding’ in all areas’ in its latest inspection in January 2020.
