A unique opportunity to lead and develop a newly formed directorate for children’s services

You will be experienced in children services at the most senior levels, accomplished in managing statutory responsibility and have a track record of innovative delivery of high performing services. Your highly regarded leadership and communication skills will ensure you build strong relationships with our partners, elected members, key stakeholders and staff across the council.

Leading council services for children in the second local authority in the country to have responsibility for a Trust delivery arrangement, you will provide innovative and creative influence within and beyond the council to create the best outcomes for Slough’s children and young people. You will ensure that the ambitions for the increasing population of young citizens can reach fulfilment and foster the wide range of partnerships needed to achieve success.

Slough may be small geographically but a giant multi-culturally and economically, with a population and challenges more like an inner-London borough than its surrounding neighbours. If you enjoy complex challenges and thrive in a vibrant team environment then this is the place for you, come and join us.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Roger Parkin, interim chief executive on 01753 875207.
