Job overview

Sponsored jointly by Sir David Samworth and the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, the Samworth Church Academy is an 11 – 19, mixed secondary, serving the Mansfield community. A popular school with around 1200 students, our Sixth form numbers have trebled in the last few years, and we have capacity for further growth.  We remain wedded to our original aspiration – “no more of the same here.”  We want to do things differently.

We believe in preparing children for “70 great years” after leaving the Academy.  Achieving high levels of progress and successful exam results are at the heart of our work. This means ensuring our curriculum matches our students.  Our Outward Bound beliefs and our unique tie with Gordonstoun and the Round Square Organisation, are indications of the broad education we seek to deliver. Our Christian ethos is also a cornerstone of our work.  This encourages our students to acquire a strong moral purpose and become great citizens.

Your primary purpose will be to support the Principal to provide strategic leadership for the academy; secure high quality education and high standards of attainment for all students and education which encourages and enables all within the school community to develop their potential spiritually, morally, socially, physically and intellectually.

If you feel you have the skills and expertise and are attracted by our approach, then we would be interested in hearing from you. For more information, please see the attached candidate information pack which details how you can apply.

Closing date:  Monday 30th April at 10am.

Interview date: We anticipate interviews will take place on Friday 4th May 2018.
