Mount St Mary’s is a successful and over-subscribed inner city school located in the very heart of the city. We are well placed to focus our efforts on driving the standards of progress and achievement for all learners.
In 2017 Ofsted identified Mount St Mary's as "Requiring Improvement" but with considerable positive features. Our subsequent Ofsted Monitoring Visit in June 2018 highlights and praises the positive impact of leadership in all areas.
We have a well established reputation for our care, guidance and support, ensuring all learners are afforded a high level of structure and personalised development, recognised within our Ofsted report. All students seek to access extra curricular activities beyond the school day, be that of a sporting nature, academic, performing arts or public speaking. This is an area we value highly and continue to see growth in.
In April this year the school underwent a Section 48 Inspection gaining an overall judgement of Good with Outstanding. The report comments "Students are polite, confident and respectful in the way they treat each other and interact with staff and visitors. They are .. highly articulate and proud of their school and their personal achievements. Behaviour in school is excellent and a strength of the school as it reflects its Catholic character."
Governors are seeking to appoint a Student Advocate to join an existing team of four, managed by a team leader. The successful candidate would be one who can inspire and motivate young people and who possesses the life skills and experience that they can draw upon to guide, support and have a positive impact on the outcomes for the young people within our care. Applicants should have 5 GCSEs including English and Maths and a qualification relevant to the position or experience within a similar role.
