Job overview

Required for June 2024, we are seeking to appoint a committed and talented professional to provide outstanding pastoral support to the students of Kingsmeadow School.

As a Student-Focussed Pastoral Support worker, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to support staff and students in the application of Restorative Behaviour Management Techniques. You must be able to contribute to our vision of ensuring that every child achieves their full potential through strong wellbeing support and the removal of learning barriers. You will have a commitment to promoting a happy, safe and inclusive environment, whilst seeking to deliver continued improvement through the engagement, motivation and support of staff, parents and students.

If you are the successful candidate, you will predominantly staff the behaviour support timetable, intervening at the earliest possible stage of behaviour issues. Where behaviours escalate, you may also be called upon to remove students from the classroom and participate in further behaviour management practices with the support of the wider pastoral team. You will also be expected to staff the student groundings - thirty minute lunchtime and after-school periods where students are encouraged to reflect on their behaviours and seek ways of removing barriers to learning, improving their engagement with learning and improving subsequent outcomes.

Kingsmeadow School has fantastic facilities and offers an excellent induction programme, a collegiate and supportive pastoral team within which to work and first class ongoing professional development opportunities to further enhance your career.

The closing date for applications is noon on Friday 19 April 2024.

Interviews will take place week commencing Monday 22 April 2024.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and appointments are made subject to enhanced DBS disclosure and satisfactory checks on individual social media content / online presence.
