We are looking for an exceptional individual who will support the delivery and ensure the quality of our undergraduate student experience.
The Student Liaison Officer (SLO) is a new post in our Department. As part of our Undergraduate Team, the postholder will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the student academic experience. This will include supporting the administration and coordination of the undergraduate liaison structures and processes, working closely with academic staff and departmental administration and also providing professional knowledge and expertise in order to support strategic planning and development of our undergraduate programmes.
The post holder will be educated to degree level, ideally in Physics or a related subject, or have an equivalent level of professional qualifications and experience in a closely related discipline. Significant experience in a relevant role in higher education or further education with a successful track record of undertaking major academic administrative roles is also required. In addition, the post holder must have an understanding of the life cycle of and pressures on students in higher education, both undergraduate and graduate. Experience supporting students academically as well as pastorally and experience of supporting people with mental health/disabilities in educational setting is also essential
It will be highly desirable if the successful candidate possesses a clear understanding of Teaching, Learning and Student-related goals and a vision as to how these can be developed for the department in the wider context of the College goals and an understanding of Quality Assurance issues as related to teaching and learning.
