Being part of the ‘Penk Valley Academy Trust’ of schools since 2018, we take pupils from the four local First Schools as well as other pupils from out of catchment at the start of year 5 and also into year 7, with our pupils feeding into Wolgarston High School or The Rural Enterprise Academy (TREA).

The leadership team consists of the Headteacher, Mr Grocutt, Deputy Headteacher, Mr Cole and Assistant Headteacher Mr Meredith, Mrs Griffiths, the school's Office Manager, also provides assistance, along with the curriculum leads.

The children benefit from subject-specialist facilities and a mixture of primary and secondary specialist teachers. They are also supported by their ‘Class Teacher’ who they spend time with at the start and end of each day to help develop a number of key skills linked to their own personal development.

Diversity and inclusion are both promoted and celebrated at our school, and our vision is underpinned by British values. Safeguarding is at the heart of what we do, not only for our children but for the whole school community.

Teaching and learning, is supported by Visible Learning and the development of Oracy skills for all. We also promote success through our broad and balanced curriculum, which includes many extra-curricular clubs, school trips, and themed days.

Our most recent Ofsted report (June 2022) said that "the school is ambitious for every pupil. Expectations are high. Pupils understand and respond well to these expectations. They behave well around the school and work hard in lessons'. But don’t believe this; please come and see us.
