The College seeks to appoint a Student Services Assistant to join our experienced team of colleagues who will be responsible for student liaison, correspondence and administrative duties.

 

The College is located in beautiful grounds in Harrow-on- the-Hill and you will be working and be supported by an experienced team of middle and senior leaders.   St. Dominic’s is an ‘Outstanding’ Sixth Form College and is heavily over-subscribed with 1400 learners on roll.   This is a permanent post, subject to the usual probationary conditions.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

·        To provide a range of administrative duties within the Student Services Team (including assisting with the enrolment of new students)

·        To provide a high level of support to students in all matters of day-to-day life beyond the classroom

  • Producing correspondence of a consistently high standard to parents, staff and external agencies

·        Receiving disciplinary action referrals from teachers, producing the paperwork and recording stage warnings on Student Information Database and sending correspondence home

·        Producing attendance and academic reference letters

·        Assist in setting up and maintaining the student filing system to a high standard

·        Recording any student absences during the College day (including medical appointments or feeling unwell)

·        Updating the Student Information Database with personal information where necessary

·        To be alert to any concerns regarding Safeguarding and inform the designated staff members

About You:

·        You have a post 16 qualifications, including Maths and English GSCE/O level

·        You have excellent inter and intra personal skills

·        You have a high attention to detail

·        You have high quality written and verbal communication

·        You are proactive and able to work to your own initiative

·        You have an adaptable personality and thrive working in a busy team environment

·        You have strong IT skills with competency in Microsoft Office

·        Experience within the education sector is advantageous

St. Dominic's is the longest established centre for Catholic post-16 education in the Diocese of Westminster. The College provides a wide choice of GCE A, Applied A and AS courses. In addition, BTEC Level 3/ Extended Diploma (Edexcel)

All students are fully supported by Personal Tutors in preparation for employment or higher education. The College provides a Religious Education programme for all students. The Course is accredited by the National Open College Network and students are awarded a Level 1 in Year 12 and a Level 2 Year 13. The examination success rate is outstanding and the vast majority of students progress to higher education.  A wide range of extra-curricular activities is available. 

There is easy access by Metropolitan/Piccadilly lines, British Rail and local bus services.
