The Role

Our Student Services Department provides Pastoral Support, Enrichment and Careers Advice to students throughout their time at EHWLC. The Department puts students’ needs at the heart of everything it does, working together with Curriculum and other college departments & services to ensure student success and satisfaction.

As the Student Services Manager, you will provide a comprehensive and flexible managerial presence at one of four college Student Support Centres, you will lead and support a team of Advisors, covering Engagement & Enrichment, Pastoral interventions, Safeguarding, Careers/Occupational Information & Advice and Student Support Funds.

Working with internal stakeholders and a variety of external agencies you will deliver a “one-stop” service to students that are of the highest standard and responsive to student needs. As part of a cross college Management Team the Student Services Manager will also take the lead responsibility for one of the Careers Advice Provision. You will ensure that the Advisors across all sites have the knowledge and skills required to deliver a high quality service and support the other Centre Managers in providing outstanding delivery.

The Person

An experienced leader and manager, with an in depth knowledge of and demonstrably successful track record in the field of Student Services delivery, you will also have:

  • Significant experience of managing a high quality Careers provision
  • A demonstrable track record of working with quality systems and external grading organisations such as Ofsted
  • Experience of working with vulnerable, disengaged learners and challenging behaviour in informal youth work, social care or educational settings
  • A well-developed understanding of and commitment to Equality and Safeguarding outcomes for students.
  • The ability to effectively manage, inspire, develop and enhance teams whilst ensuring effective service delivery and policy management
  • Relevant education and qualifications to the role
