Job overview

We have a great opportunity for a caring, personable and compassionate individual to join us in the role of Student Support Manager at King Henry School, starting as soon as possible. This is a rewarding position within the pastoral remit of our school, working alongside and supporting fellow Student Support Managers and the leadership team in their daily operational roles.

Our successful candidate will be responsible for managing the relevant admin, attendance, safeguarding and general social, moral and spiritual well-being of the students (in line with the Every Child Matters Agenda).  You will use our school Management Information System to run reports for rewards, behaviour and attendance to ensure the relevant member of the leadership team is provided with key data on a weekly basis. Our appointed candidate will liaise with parents, carers and outside agencies as required, including responding to parental email queries, making phone calls and leading on face to face meetings, so strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. This is a very busy and fast-paced role and we urge candidates to look carefully at the job description to fully understand the nature of this role. We would love to hear from candidates who are keen to be part of our collaborative and supportive environment and are looking for a new rewarding challenge.

The working basis of the role is 36 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week inset.

Note that Leigh Academies Trust is currently supporting King Henry School to recruit exceptional staff who can make an immediate positive impact on the school community and all of its students. This is a hugely exciting time to join King Henry School and for our staff to work together under the remarkable leadership of John Dixon, Principal.

This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates - you can read more about this in our Recruitment Guidance. Our commitment to equality and diversity: As a Trust, we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals, we all bring something unique to the role regardless of any protected characteristics which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise. We are committed to providing equality and fairness throughout our recruitment and employment practices and not discriminating on any grounds.

Our Vision

We believe that every student should have the opportunity to be extraordinary through developing academic, physical and emotional confidence. This means having the courage to take risks and learn from their mistakes.  Success in education, as in sport, is the result of successive small failures followed by ever increasing challenges. As we tell our students;  “Everything worth achieving is outside your comfort zone.”
