Job overview
In consideration of the school’s drive for improved teaching and learning and the dynamic nature of support required for an ever changing school cohort, we would like to appoint a highly effective students support officer to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment. Applicants will be highly motivated and have a passion to ensure that our learners achieve the very best that they can at all times. The core purpose of the role will be to uphold the core standards of pride, respect and achievement with all learners but also ensure that those students and their families who require specialist intervention receive the highest standard of bespoke support. Specifically, the successful candidates will:
Develop and maintain effective and supportive relationships with children, young people and those engaged with them
- Assess the level of need of vulnerable students and make referrals to the appropriate agencies
- Provide a complementary service throughout the school that enhances existing provision in order to support learning, participation and encourage social inclusion
- Carry a caseload and offer timetabled support to individual students and their families
