Outwood Grange Academies Trust seeks applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.

We believe that all support staff within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of securing student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious individuals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.

Outwood Academy Brumby places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.

As a Learning Manager you must have the ability to work with students and have a real interest in the issues faced by the students. You will be required to support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring in order to maximise student attainment. You will monitor all students in the year group; both academically and behaviourally. You will work closely with the Inclusion Co-ordinator, our Bridge and PLC provision and the Assistant Principal (Deep Support Lead) on Intervention Strategies targeting students for intervention, i.e. coursework completion and other issues which may present a barrier to learning. Your role will have emphasis on intervention and student tracking throughout the day using the school’s “Praising Stars” system. Excellent communication and listening skills is essential for this post as you will be required to attend Safeguarding Case Conferences on behalf of the school and providing feedback to the delegated person where necessary.

The successful candidate must be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work and ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on your own initiative and be able to lead by example are essential. You will be required to deal with students, parents and outside agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner.

The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools and you will be joining a highly innovative, inspirational and ambitious organisation. The Trust guarantees every member of staff CPD and development opportunities.

We are proud that Outwood Academy Brumby is rated Good with Outstanding leadership by Ofsted and we are based in the friendly, North Lincolnshire town of Scunthorpe with easy access to the stunning countryside. The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2012 and has been transformed beyond recognition, having formerly been in Special Measures.

We provide every opportunity for children to be successful and pride ourselves on the outcomes they achieve and we were delighted that after its latest visit, Ofsted noted that staff at the academy ‘understand the needs and interests of pupils well,’ and highlighted that ‘pupils say that staff are supportive.’

We believe our success speaks for itself as we are above the national average for the number of students achieving a Grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs.

As we strive to become Outstanding, help to take us to the next level.

The Outwood Family of Schools pride ourselves on fully supporting colleagues within the Family both professionally and personally.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

As a founding Trust of the National Institute of Education (NIoT), we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education and NIoT to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all teaching staff receiving a minimum of two hours of CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including family friendly policies, enhanced occupational benefits available (such as maternity, adoption and parental leave) with no qualifying period, funded CPD for qualifications up to and including Masters level plus other exclusive benefits including a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy.

All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.

If you share our vision, join our family.
