STUDENT WELFARE OFFICER

John Hampden Grammar School is seeking a Student Welfare Officer to join its Pastoral Team to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of pupils.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing emergency and general first aid advice to pupils on a daily basis.

This is an important role within the school and an ability to relate to, and empathise with young people is vital.  A positive attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure are also fundamental to carrying out this role effectively.  You will have good attention to detail and have the capacity to work in an environment that requires diplomacy, tact and confidentiality.  

Previous nursing, healthcare and/or first aid experience is essential and applicants must demonstrate a good standard of numeracy and literacy.  The ideal candidate will have excellent MS office skills e.g. Excel and Word. Knowledge of SIMS would be advantageous, however full training can be offered to the successful applicant if necessary.  


Hours: 

37 hours per week (8.15am – 3.45pm Monday to Friday), 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 staff training days)


Salary:

Salary is dependent on experience but will be paid within Bucks Pay Range 3 or 4, currently £21,379 - £25,199 per annum, actual pro-rata salary range £18,131 - £21,468 per annum.
