Job overview
As a Study Support Tutor at New College Bradford, you'll play a direct role in helping students with additional learning needs or disabilities achieve their academic goals. You'll manage your own caseload, build personalised support plans, provide one-to-one and small-group intervention, and work closely with subject teachers and our SENDCo to make sure every student gets the right support at the right time. It's a role where you'll genuinely see the difference you make, helping students build confidence, resilience and a path to their next step, whether that's an apprenticeship or higher education.
About you
You'll have experience supporting individuals with learning difficulties, disabilities or behavioural needs, whether from a college, school, health or care setting, along with patience, good listening skills and a genuinely empathetic approach. You don't need a degree, but you do need a willingness to undertake training (including first aid and positive handling), strong communication skills, and the confidence to work independently as well as part of a team. Above all, we're looking for someone who's passionate about improving young people's life chances and comfortable working with students aged 16 to 19.
