Subject Leader of Biology
For September 2020
Stonar is an independent, non-selective, co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 to 18, which was rated excellent by ISI in October 2018 for both pupil achievement and personal development. Stonar is part of Globeducate, an expanding global family of schools. Our pupils regularly achieve outstanding results, which are beyond expectations both academically and personally. We pride ourselves on our ability to nurture the learning needs of every individual in a respectful, supportive and globally-minded community. All teaching staff are expected to proactively support the pastoral aims of the school and a willingness to be involved in the extra-curricular life of this busy boarding school is required. Stonar is situated in over 80 acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside, yet only a 20 minute drive from the World Heritage City of Bath and within easy reach of the M4 corridor.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher of biology to join a well-established science department and lead the teaching and learning of biology throughout the Senior School. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Science to promote the study and enjoyment of science. They should be able to teach Biology to A Level and chemistry and physics to at least KS3. A willingness and ability to teach one other science to GCSE level would be an advantage.
