Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher of Computer Science or Information Technology to join and lead our dedicated team at The Chalfonts Community College due to the current Subject Lead for Computing being internally promoted to a new position within the school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Computing department and ensuring its continued future success. Currently, we have a KS4 & KS5 Computer Science Coordinator in the department who teaches the bulk of KS4 and KS5 Computer Science lessons; therefore, this role would be suitable for someone who wishes to lead a department and is perhaps more comfortable teaching KS4 & KS5 Information Technology and KS3 Computing.

Currently, we offer OCR Computer Science at GCSE and A Levels, as well as OCR Cambridge Nationals & Technicals in Information Technology vocational courses from Year 10 onwards. The department is well-resourced; two of the computer suites' desktop computers have just recently been replaced and 32 new Chromebooks have been purchased for the department to ensure that we have ample resources available for students. Our classrooms have Miracast-compatible projectors for easy casting and Computing teachers have recently been given upgraded laptops for performance and overall improvement of their Computing teaching deliverables.

We welcome applications from teachers who are ready to make the move to Subject Leadership or seasoned Subject Leaders who might be looking for a fresh change. Our current Subject Leader for Computing is staying on at The Chalfonts Community College and will help transition our new candidate to the role, and should the candidate wish; is happy to assist in any coaching for first-time Subject Leaders.

Enquiries can be forwarded to Mr James Gaunt. Completed application forms to recruitment@chalfonts.org The Chalfonts Community College, Narcot Lane, Chalfont St Peter, Bucks, SL9 8TP. Tel: 01753 882032
