The music department has long been a strength of the curriculum offer at Westwood Academy, with a history of outstanding results and excellent musicianship, music is a very popular subject in the school. By being a central part of the next phase of our school development, we want this role to build on past successes and grow music provision even further, through exciting extra-curricular work alongside creative curriculum developments.
We are a school that celebrates success and our pupils have had notable success in the past, winning prestigious competitions and taking part in many high quality public performances. We have strongly developed links with The University of Warwick and are involved in the planning of cultural events as part of the Coventry City of Culture programme. In our recent OfSTED inspection (October 2017) we were graded ‘good’ and our journey towards outstanding was noted. Recently, the governing bodies of The Westwood Academy and the prestigious Kenilworth School passed resolutions to come together to form a Multi-Academy Trust (KMAT) and so you will be joining us at the start of this exciting journey. In addition, you will be joining a team made up of staff who have been working with us for 40 years through to new teachers to the profession.

Role Requirements for Teaching Vacancies:
• Qualified Teacher Status or NQT with recent UK classroom experience essential
