Job overview

We are seeking an exceptional teacher of physics to join our growing department. The successful candidate will be a vibrant teacher with excellent subject knowledge, who can enthuse, engage and motivate young people at all levels, and contribute fully to our team.

In the science department we share our curriculum planning, emphasise feedback over marking, and we support each other through regular coaching. Our lessons follow a direct instruction model, and we are passionate about our students excelling in science through a broad and challenging curriculum.

As Subject Lead you will support the Head of Science in ensuring the curriculum is consistent and provides levels of challenge that enable pupils to demonstrate a thirst for knowledge particularly in Key Stage 3. As a middle leader, there is also an expectation that you will actively promote the aims, values and ethos of the Academy.

At Haberdashers' Borough Academy we are fortunate to have our own teaching school, Haberdashers’ Institute For Professional Learning, a dedicated training and development arm of the Haberdashers’ Academies Trust.

The Habs Institute coordinates a range of professional development programmes that support our future leaders, managers, teachers and support staff through progressive, rewarding and engaging professional learning offers.
