Job overview
We are currently looking to appoint a qualified Teacher to join us as Subject Leader of Computing.
The Department recognises the relevance of Computing to future careers prospects and incorporates STEM links within all of the Faculty subject areas. It has also worked over the last 12 months to develop cross-curricular links with other STEM subject areas to ensure consistent approaches to developing the wider learning skills of the students we teach. The Faculty is always keen to grow and develop its teaching and learning practice and put students at the centre of the curriculum. We work hard to make sure that our students love our subject, improve the cultural capital of those that we teach, and aspire to achieve their very best.
The Faculty is extremely well resourced with Computing having its own dedicated specialist classroom. The department runs extracurricular sessions which further develops the passion and skills Computing students. We use a wide range of software such as ‘Scratch’ and ‘Kahoot’ to engage and enthuse our students.

The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students.
- Support the subject area as appropriate and provide direction for Subject Lead and teachers.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
- Provide a motivating and structured learning experience, which will provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- Contribute significantly to raising standards of students' attainment as a teacher and form tutor.
