Subject Leader Computing

We seek a talented and committed Teacher of Computing with a successful track record of raising achievement in order to drive further improvement across our school. The ability to teach media studies would be advantageous, but is not a necessity.

There is the opportunity for the post to be permanent for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will lead a team of highly effective and committed teachers and would be expected to contribute to a learning environment which stimulates and engages students of all abilities, enabling them to reach the highest possible standards. Our students are enthusiastic, talented and keen to succeed and we are looking for a colleague who can respond to this and further enhance their learning and educational experience.

The Avon Valley School is an oversubscribed 11-16 school with a specialism within the Performing Arts, which is known for its aspirational and caring environment. Following our Ofsted Inspection in July 2017, we were graded a “Good” School. We are looking to attract committed individuals, to become valued members of our staff. The school is run by a highly dedicated senior leadership team, who have the upmost care and respect for our students, our staff and the local community.

• Focussed career development, including yearly appraisals, with 6 month reviews

• We offer twilight sessions, and will part fund external courses 

• Focus on staff development, and internal promotion.
