An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy (Tait Avenue, Edlington, Doncaster, DN12 1HH) for an inspirational and talented Subject Leader – Design Technology to work with an experienced and highly motivated team of professionals.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Subject Leader – Design Technology who will lead and support the department to achieve excellent outcomes for our students. We are looking for the right candidate who will possess the key knowledge, attributes and skills to deliver engaging and informative lessons that motivate and enthuse the students at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy to invest in their learning.

  • Have the ability to engage, inspire and build excellent relationships with both students and staff. 
  • Be a team player and work closely with other leaders and professionals to develop and implement effective strategies and processes of departmental improvement.
  • Be committed to raising standards for all students of Design Technology.

Sir Thomas Wharton Academy is a good secondary school of over 1100 students with a thriving and growing collaborative Post 16 provision. The Academy joined Maltby Learning Trust on 1st April 2017 and secured an OFSTED Good judgement in September 2021. We are now oversubscribed each year and we are very fortunate to be housed in a new building with state-of-the-art facilities.
