Job overview

You would be working within a supportive team of committed teachers and support staff.  There are twenty-four classes within our Primary phase, we have strong links to the local community and work hard to constantly achieve the best practice and provision for our students.

We are looking for an outstanding KS2 classroom teacher responsible for English. 

You will have an exemplary knowledge of how to teach both reading and writing across the primary phase. You will be able to design a seamless and exciting English curriculum for our students from Early Years to Year 6. 

You will also have excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to inspire and develop students in order to raise standards and maximise their potential.

Bridgwater College Academy is the only all-through mainstream Academy in Somerset and opened in 2012.  Student numbers are divided equally between Primary and Secondary phases; we also have a nursery provision too. The Academy was the first sponsored Academy within the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, which now hosts seven Academies and is itself set to continue to expand in the future.
