Durham Johnston is a truly comprehensive school with very high levels of achievement in the heart of Durham City. We are one of the highest performing schools in the North East, consistently oversubscribed, with students who are motivated to learn and keen to do their very best.
We are looking for an excellent teacher of Art to become our subject leader and to maintain and improve upon the first-rate provision at Durham Johnston. If you enjoy teaching students of all abilities, and want to be part of exciting times in an outstanding school, we would like to hear from you. This post is suitable for a strong practitioner who is fairly new to the profession and ambitious or an experienced Subject Leader who wants to work in a school where subject stretch is at the heart of our teaching philosophy.
We believe that our school is an excellent place to work. Like all schools, we work extremely hard – but school leaders aim to be pragmatic about change and are very grateful for the efforts of our staff.
