Job overview

The Subject Leader for PSHCE (Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education) is an exciting and critical new role in our school.

This career opportunity is intended for an experienced teacher who is passionate about the role the curriculum has in developing responsible, respectful and active citizens.  Working in partnership alongside other subject leaders in our school, you will develop a progressive curriculum for PSHE for years 7-13 that promotes the extensive personal development of our students.

You will be able to ensure that the quality of teaching and learning in PSHCE lessons is exceptional.  You will ensure that there is coherence across the school in our approaches to personal development, careers, relationships, sex and health education and RE, by working alongside senior leaders to strategically to map themes and opportunities for students across the school.

You will have a proven track record in the classroom, and strong pastoral experience.  We are open to a range of subject specialisms for this post, but know it would naturally suit someone with a background in Social Sciences, Citizenship or RE.  At The Oxford Academy, every student has one lesson of PSHCE a fortnight.

If you would like to arrange a visit before applying please contact our HR Officer, Claire Woodhall recruitment@theoxfordacademy.org
