Job overview

We are looking to appoint a Subject Leader for Health and Social Care, Diploma and Extended Diploma. We are ideally looking for an experienced Health and Social Care teacher who will champion both courses and make the subject exciting, successful and high performing. 

You will ideally be able to demonstrate how you have worked collaboratively within a team to develop quality online and paper-based resources. You will be committed to ensuring a consistent and quality experience for all students studying vocational Health and Social Care programmes. The key aspects of the job are outlined in the generic college job description but in addition, you will ideally have experience of the internal moderation process and preparing for external moderation. 

You will be prepared to take the role of lead internal verifier and ensure the quality, fairness and robustness of the internal moderation system. You will work with the Director of Social Sciences to identify and resolve any emerging issues including student attendance and performance concerns 

*The Subject Leader role is reviewed every three years and is subject to the continuation or discontinuation by either the post holder or the College; the teaching role continues should the Subject Leader element be relinquished.

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College situated in Eastleigh, Hampshire is one of the largest (over 4,700 students in 2022) and most successful sixth form colleges in the country.
