We are seeking to appoint a highly effective, dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Modern Foreign Languages to lead and promote the MFL Department; applicants must be able to offer either French or Spanish. An ability to teach any other languages would be advantageous. The appointed applicant will help drive MFL on to greater success.
The successful applicant will:
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner; committed to achieving and sustaining high standards of Learning and Teaching
- Have a rigorous and inventive approach to the delivery of Modern Foreign Languages acorss both KS3 and KS4
- Be enthusiastic about the subject, with the ability to inspire, develop and encourage independence in our pupils' study of languages
- Set high standards within and beyond the deparmtnet
- Be fully responsible for the day to day running of the department, line management of staff and strategic long term planning
- Have outstanding classroom management skills, high expectations and a commitment to the best possible outcomes for all students
- Be highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work well with other, high achieving professionals

Emerson Park Academy is a mixed comprehensive school for pupils aged 11-16 years.
Since September 1999, 192 pupils have been admitted annually, in response to parental demand. The Academy can trace its roots back to 1943 when it began life as the only Grammar School in the country to be establised during World War Two. It move to its present site in 1954 and became a comprehensive school in 1973.
