Job overview
Stonar School is a vibrant co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 3 – 18. As one of over 50 schools in the NACE Group worldwide, Stonar has a global educational perspective, yet it is located in stunning grounds in the Wiltshire countryside just eight miles from the centre of the city of Bath and within easy reach of the M4 corridor. Students regularly achieve excellent results, which are beyond expectations both academically and personally. In the recent ISI inspection, Stonar was rated excellent for both pupil achievement and pupil personal development.
We are seeking a dynamic, energetic and experienced teacher to lead Drama in the Senior School from September 2019. This is an exciting opportunity to spearhead a well-established department in a school that enjoys a rich history of performance work.
The successful candidate will have sole responsibility for the department and will be able to teach throughout the age range and make a significant contribution to the school’s performing arts programme. Drama is taught as a discrete subject and is a popular choice at GCSE and A Level. Many students have continued along a drama career, attending establishments such as LIPA, Italia Conti, Tring, PPA and Guildford Drama School. Several students now work professionally in the arts in London and around the world. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the responsibility of a form tutor and all teachers are expected to be fully committed to the life of our busy boarding school.
