Job overview

Subject Leader of Economics | Required for September 2019

Permanent and Full Time (would consider part-time)

Economics is an incredibly popular subject amongst the students of Five Ways and we are delighted that many students subsequently elect to study Economics at university. We are currently looking to appoint a well-motivated and ambitious professional to lead the Economics team. For the right candidate there is also the exciting possibility to develop our existing provision and introduce Business Studies to the school at both ‘A’ level and GCSE.

The successful candidate will;

 lead a popular ‘A’ level subject;

 teach ‘A’ Level to very able students many of whom go on to study Economics, or related courses at Russell Group Universities;

 contribute to the school’s vibrant extra-curricular programme;

KEFW is a very oversubscribed and “outstanding” co-educational grammar school on the edge of the city. There is a friendly, caring ethos in the school, with an enthusiastic and supportive staff. The staff and students enjoy their learning together and high academic standards are accompanied by an appreciation of fun and a commitment to enrichment beyond the curriculum.

The post would be ideal for a teacher who is looking for experience of leading and teaching their subject to the highest level and working with highly motivated, talented, students.  We are looking for a keen, able, specialist, with experience of teaching A-level who will be able to make a full, school wide contribution. We would welcome someone with the ability to offer a second subject, but this is not essential.

This post offers an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to join our team; if you have the energy, ideas and enthusiasm to join us, please contact Mike Sherwin on the below details for further information and a full application pack.
