We require fom September 2021 (or earlier if possible) a motivated and inspirational Subject Leader of English to join this lively and outstanding 11-18 Foundation School. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented English teacher with energy and leadership and management experience to lead this key area. The successful candidate will lead a hardworking, collaborative and high achieving team.  We expect that you will be able to teach English across the KS3 and KS4 ability range.  The ability to teach English Language or Literature to A-level is desirable.

The successful candidate will:

• be an outstanding teacher with recent successful teaching experience at KS3 and KS4 and preferably KS5

• have a proven track record of excellent examination results

• have a clear vision to inspire colleagues, an ability to develop and evaluate the work of a team, and experience of raising achievement

Bishop Heber High School is a very successful and popular School with a reputation for excellence. Situated in rural South Cheshire, the school is oversubscribed with over 1,300 students from Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales.

Bishop Heber High School is a mixed, non-denominational comprehensive school with a sixth form, there are 1280 students on roll aged 11-18. It is situated in the picturesque village of Malpas. The school has an enviable reputation for excellence both within its catchment area and far beyond. The school was founded in 1960.

Location

Malpas is a large village placed deep in the south Cheshire countryside. There are several pubs in the village as well as good quality local shopping. Malpas also hosts a regular Farmers’ Market. If you are looking to explore, Malpas is a great base for sightseeing with Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales just a stone’s throw away. Practically on your doorstep is the famous city of Chester, you can reach the city in 30 minutes and explore all the historic sites.
