Are you an inspirational, dedicated teacher who is committed to raising expectations and attainment? Do you consistently deliver well planned lessons, track individual pupil progress and provide structured feedback?
We want you to lead our high achieving PE department, teaching across all Key Stages. You will have a good level of knowledge across all sport, be committed to our extensive extra-curricular programme and promote a positive team culture. Additionally, experience of leading on the current AQA GCSE PE specification would be beneficial.
The school sport facilities include an excellent Community Sports Centre with a four court indoor tennis facility, gymnastic centre, new sports hall, ATP, four new football pitches, indoor and outdoor cricket nets, cricket pitch and pavilion, fitness suite and girls/boys outdoor and indoor changing facilities.
The subject area has large numbers of students following GCSE, BTec Levels 2 & 3 and A Level courses.
Dragonfly Multi Academy Trust (MAT) incorporates Mendip Studio School, Writhlington School, a Sixth Form and Peasedown St John Primary School. With the exception of the Primary School, all are located on a large modern state of the art campus that benefits from exceptional media facilities, a 400-seat theatre and a Community Sports Centre. All students and teachers have their own iPad for use in school and at home to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
New staff ideas are encouraged and there are endless opportunities to lead and to contribute to its wide range of extra-curricular activities: a large Combined Cadet Force, international links with China, Tanzania & Rwanda that support the 14-19 curriculum and an internationally recognised orchid project.
