You can make a difference in our Academy which is OfSTED rated ‘Good’, where we work hard, support each other and are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of their background or abilities, achieve their very best and are confident about their futures. You will be genuinely recognised and valued for your performance and in return supported with a personalised professional development plan.
You will relish the opportunities that are available to you. At ARA we are proud of our culturally diverse environment and with the combination of passionate, talented teaching and impressive facilities. We have created an enviable learning environment where traditional values, high reaching aspirations and creative curiosity underpin our pursuit of excellence.
We are seeking to appoint a confident and motivated individual to undertake the role of Subject Leader for PSHE and Citizenship. Candidates will have the leadership qualities, management skills and drive necessary to contribute to leading the development of these subjects across the Academy. We have full GCSE examination groups in Years 9-11 and Citizenship is a very popular subject at KS4. Our 2019 GCSE results were also significantly above National Averages. This role is to commence as soon as possible, however we are willing to wait until Easter for the right candidate.
Raising and securing high standards of teaching and learning and securing the best possible student outcomes is a key aspect of the role. The candidate should be an outstanding teacher able to demonstrate an excellent record of public examination success and with a desire to shape the delivery of PSHE & Citizenship across the Academy. The role is also responsible for Sex and Relationships Education. This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced leader or a strong individual looking for a leadership challenge.
The Academy is outer London but with Inner London pay and offers free on-site parking, free use of the gym, subsidised meals and family friendly policies including dependents entitlement.
Since we’re just off the A40 at the Target Roundabout, travel connections are first-rate, with the A40/M25/M4/North Circular within easy reach and the Central Line Station just a short Bus ride away.
