Job overview

Rethinking education, helping tomorrow’s citizens flourish.

We seek an outstanding practitioner of Psychology and Sociology who is able to lead a flourishing and expanding Social Sciences department.

Drawing upon our partnership with the University of Birmingham and their world-leading research and best-practice resources, focusing on learning without limits, and combining our own diverse experience in education, the University of Birmingham School is setting an example of what’s truly possible for secondary school education – one that gives character development as much attention as academic success.

We wish to recruit a well-qualified and talented Subject Leader for Social Sciences, with the ability to teach and lead A level Psychology and Sociology, two of the more popular A level choices at the University of Birmingham School. The successful candidate will motivate and inspire both staff and students within the department, have demonstrated excellent leadership and management skills, and be committed to inclusion and the well-being of every young person. You will also have outstanding subject knowledge.

We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School. In return, we will recognise your contribution through an enhanced package of pay and benefits subject to performance.
