Anglo European School is seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Subject Leader for Technology to lead our innovative and successful department comprising of Food Technology and Design and Technology. These subjects are very popular in the school and we teach both in Key Stage 3 and 4. 

The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and in their ambition for our young people to engage positively in design and creative production. They must be an excellent classroom practitioner and had some proven experience in leading and managing a team or a substantial project to fruition. We are looking for a future leader who has high expectations, a vision for the further development of these subjects and a plan for supporting all students realise their potential.

About Anglo European School

Anglo European School is a 11-19, co-educational comprehensive school situated in Ingatestone, Essex. It has approximately 1,415 students.

The school was opened in 1973 after the closure of a secondary modern school led locals to campaign to keep the school open and the Local Authority, Essex, decided to establish a school with a “European Dimension”.

Anglo European School serves local needs but also draw students from across Essex and parts of London. In 1977 it became the first UK state school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and in 1995 the first comprehensive school to become a specialist Language college. In 2005 the school established the first co-headship model in a state secondary school.

As a centre of excellence for language learning, the school offers Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish as well as English as an Additional Language and Latin.  Up until age 16 all students study two languages other than English.

In the sixth form, students must study one language. They have a choice of A-levels or an opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma. There is also the chance to study selected parts of the IB Diploma with A-levels. In addition, the International Baccalaureate Career Programme provides an internationally recognised vocational qualification.
