Job overview

Subject Team Leader for Design Technology

Start: September 2020

MPS + TLR2 (£2,796 - £6,829)

If this is you, you should apply:

  • You are already an outstanding teacher or an outstanding trainee.
  • You are creative and innovative.
  • You have very high standards and can demonstrate excellent outcomes for students in your career to date.
  • You are looking to work with driven and focused leaders in the fastest and most substantially improved school in the UK.
  • You are a strong generalist with a passion for education.
  • You want to work in a brand new (opens March 2020) £15m state-of-the-art school with brand new technology rooms and equipment supplied as part of the public sector-funded new build programme.

These are reasons why you might want to join us:

  • The new school will open in March 2020 and the brand new facilities are state-of-the-art.
  • You will be the lead for the delivery of a curriculum, subject area that we want you to design, develop and deliver; we do not have a fixed view of which courses we wish to offer but we will want Year 9 to have this additional option for September 2020. We teach a 3 year KS3, so the GCSE course would be 2 years in duration.
  • We want all KS3 students to experience an enriched programme in your chosen specialism, thus supporting the formal option to pursue the subject in KS4. We want you to tell us what you think is the best route forward…it is totally brand new!
  • You will work with a member of the leadership team as your Line Manager, who will support you unreservedly in developing your skills.
  • LBS is about to achieve a third successive year of outstanding results as we await our first Ofsted Inspection as a CAT school. We believe we are at least a GOOD school with OUTSTANDING leadership and management.
  • The school is expanding rapidly.
  • For information, we are keen to add a full 6th Form from September 2021 and our new school has provision for this.
