Concord College Summer School is an international community set in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. The college offers a range of academic courses, as well as English Language and Science courses for students along with a range of recreational activities to students aged 11-16 years during the summer period from July to August. The excellent academic and recreational facilities provide international students with a fantastic British summer school experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a passionate and driven team in a diverse and fast paced environment. As a member of the Summer School senior management team, the applicant will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the performance of the academic component of the Summer School to ensure that the teaching and learning is delivered at a high standard. This involves assisting with curriculum planning, maintaining academic administration and processes, and managing the teaching staff. The successful applicant must possess a professional attitude and excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic and flexible to adapt to changing needs. Generosity of spirit and a willingness to go the extra mile for our students is essential as is experience of managing teams in an educational capacity and previous residential summer school experience. The post holder will need to be available to assist with interviewing potential academic staff and to support the academic programme set-up in the preceding months for which remuneration will be agreed at the point of offer.

The courses will run as follows:

Session 1: Monday 24 June – Tuesday 16 July 2024

Session 2: Wednesday 17 July – Wednesday 6 August 2024

Please note: The above dates include induction training days, which are paid contracted days and attendance is mandatory for all Summer School staff.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a degree in a related discipline in addition to Qualified Teacher Status or TEFL-Q Status (Cambridge DELTA, Trinity Dip TESOL or equivalent qualification). A minimum of five years teaching experience is essential. Experience of leading and managing teams, ideally in a summer school environment is essential. 

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. The College does not apply for work permits, visas or offer sponsorship.
