The King Alfred School is seeking a conscientious and dedicated Sunday Caretaker to join us. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested in taking on a varied role in a friendly and supportive environment.
Working within the Estates team and reporting to the Compliance and Lettings Officer, the key responsibilities of this role include setting up for lettings, giving access to staff and contractors, meeting and directing visitors, challenging trespassers and receiving and logging deliveries.
The Sunday cover will also need to carry out some simple maintenance duties whilst providing cover.
In addition to the above, there is a comprehensive range of hands-on caretaking duties which can be found in the job description.
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following:
- Successful experience of providing caretaking services in a similar working environment.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively and courteously with people in order to provide a high level of customer care.
- A flexible approach to work and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to receive, record and transmit messages accurately and quickly.

King Alfred School is an informal independent day school situated on the edge of Hampstead Heath in London. In the Upper School GCSE studies include six core subjects and three optional subjects and students all take part in Choice afternoon where they can choose from a range of non-academic activities. At Sixth Form students usually take three A levels and we offer a full range of subjects alongside the UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts & Production Arts and The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). All students are also involved in a wide range of enrichment activities and there is a huge variety of after school clubs available.
