Job overview

This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College. 

In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based HR Team.

This role is pro rata, so the salary you will be receiving is £13,725.59 - £13,910.17 per annum.

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The administration of a number of different streams of financial support form part of the welfare provision within the Student Services directorate at Warwickshire College Group. Included in the directorate is the Welfare Team Guidance team along with the residential and nursery provision. Student Services provide a range of services to support student recruitment, retention, achievement, welfare and progression across all six colleges.

The postholder will report to the Head of Student Welfare

Essential Attainments:

✓Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience

✓Excellent IT knowledge and accurate data inputting skills 

✓Excellent customer service skills with a customer focused approach

✓Good administrative and organisational skills 

✓Previous experience of working with people of all ages or dealing with members of the public in a busy setting

✓A driving licence free of major endorsements and/or the ability to find alternative means of travel to attend business related activities that would satisfy the recruiting panel

Desirable Attainments:

✓Willingness to undertake training relevant to Welfare Team provision

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

✓Very good communication and interpersonal skills 

✓Excellent telephone manner

✓Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with individual customer needs 

✓An understanding of issues that affect students

✓Ability to work flexibly, use initiative and meet tight deadlines, even at busy periods 

✓Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and to appreciate the confidentiality of personal and management information

✓Work well as part of a team as well as when unsupervised, be adaptable and well organised and able to manage time effectively 

✓Friendly, helpful and welcoming

✓Reliable and responsible

✓Enjoys dealing with people from all backgrounds and age groups

✓Ability to deal with financial calculations and excel spreadsheets for processing bursary fund applications 

✓Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Equality and Diversity. 

✓Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults 

✓Ability to demonstrate behaviours which support the Core Values of the College
