St Michael’s College is seeking a suitably qualified, dynamic educator to fill the position of Support Teacher - Inclusive Education for a 6 month contract commencing July 2023.

In collaboration with parents and teachers, you will support students across the full range of abilities and needs, to meet specific learning needs. You will implement inclusive and effective teaching and learning strategies to engage and improve education outcomes of supported students. 

The successful applicant will be able to:

  • demonstrate commitment to Excellence in Learning and Teaching through supporting students, families and teachers in a case manager role;
  • co-planning from the approved curriculum;
  • teaching that provides opportunities for students to develop their love of learning; and
  • a mind-frame of continuous improvement through dedicated feedback processes which includes fortnightly review and response sessions.

A student focused mindset will be evident in the successful candidate’s ability to articulate their experience in working to create an environment where, in partnership with families, they have worked to support students to discover their spark, discover their strength and discover their spirit. Experience working within a Responsible Thinking Process framework would be advantageous. Knowledge of Senior Years transition pathways would be advantageous.

Working at BCE our teachers are required to:

  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education
