Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Tutor specialising in Behaviour and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students requiring additional behavioural support, helping them engage positively with their learning experience. This role involves collaboration with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to create effective strategies that promote student wellbeing and academic success.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in behaviour management or SEND support within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and SEND frameworks.
- Ability to develop personalised support plans for students with behavioural challenges or special educational needs.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting vulnerable learners.

TMP was originally set up as a music school. We soon realised there was a demand for creative and performing arts in the local community and we listened to our students to understand what was needed and what TMP needed to become to meet local needs.
TMP College is now Wigan's biggest and most dedicated creative college for students 16+ years of age with a range of six creative subjects to choose from. We pride ourselves on our learners diversity, creativity and success in education, particularly if learners have previously had a negative experience in education.
