Can you make a difference to the life of a child or young adult?

Located near Kirkby Lonsdale, and Grange over Sands on the edge of the Lake District, Underley Garden settings provide specialist education and residential care to children and young adults, many of whom have autistic spectrum conditions

Our highly-personalised approach ensures a more inclusive life for children and young adults in our specialist environments of understanding and calm. Our dedicated teams are passionate about creating positive, meaningful learning opportunities, helping to improve education, social and communication skills.

We now have opportunities for Support Workers to join our team of dedicated specialists in Education, Care and Therapy. Our Support Workers play a key part in the development of the young people & adults in our care.

As a Support Worker, you will help to provide a happy, caring, family environment to provide a platform from which the people entrusted to our care can achieve, and really enjoy their lives.

You will liaise with colleagues, parents, other family members and Social Workers to deliver the best care plans, ensuring that people carry as much responsibility for their own lives as is reasonable, helping them to live, grow and develop safely and positively.

As a Support Worker you will work to a fortnightly shift rota with minimum 3 days leave per week and some sleep ins for an additional allowance.

Is this the right job for you?

We are looking to speak with enthusiastic, reliable and flexible people with a genuine interest in working with children and young adults. Diploma Level 3 in a relevant sector would be great, however if you are keen to gain the qualification we will fully support you.

We offer great benefits including a clear career path, car loan, pension, childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership and free onsite yoga.

Our shift patterns don't fluctuate so you are able to plan well ahead, and you will have four days off one week and three the next.

This is a great opportunity to develop your career in care as part of a team that is committed to providing the highest levels of Care, Education and Support.

Acorn Care and Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and young people in our care. Successful applicants will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
