Job overview

The Aurora Group is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities. Established in 2015, we set out to create outstanding services across the country and have invested significantly to achieve this.  Aurora offers an exciting career opportunity to enthusiastic and committed people wanting to play a part in our rapidly developing company.

We are currently looking for Support Workers to join Orchard Manor.

Orchard Manor provides education, care and therapeutic support for young people with severe and profound communication difficulties associated with conditions like cerebral palsy, autism, brain injury and degenerative disorders. They may have complex health and sensory needs and associated difficulties that require specialist support to enable them to access a bespoke curriculum.  It is one of the few transition service for young adults in the country that offers this level of highly specialist support.

We have one aim; to empower children and young people to develop and grow in their own unique and inspiring way.

The site is currently undergoing significant redevelopment that will provide contemporary living and learning environments for young people with complex needs.  Located in 16-acres of grounds in the village of Meldreth, our school provides a wonderful working environment, supportive and friendly teams and training – all of which offers a fantastic and rewarding career opportunity for those wanting to make a real difference to others.

Our passionate and committed team are looking for like-minded people to join them.  If you’re someone who believes in giving children and young people with disabilities the best opportunities to succeed in life, we’d like to hear from you.

  • “Your role is to come in and make that person’s life awesome. Now that’s a pretty good job. It’s a great job!” - Shelley, Support Worker

By becoming an Aurora Support Worker, you’ll be choosing a truly rewarding career and, with development plans for both Aurora and Orchard Manor, you too can make someone’s life awesome.

Your role is to support young people to live happy and fulfilled lives, as independently as possible.

The Role:

Are you someone who wants to feel proud of what you do each day? Do you want to help a child or young person with disabilities live more independently? You don’t need to have any formal qualifications as we can provide the training you need to become qualified – what you do need is energy, enthusiasm and passion to help make a difference.

As a Support Worker, you’ll be helping individuals to live the lives they choose and to ‘empower them to grow’. It’s a really important role, having responsibility for supporting people’s personal, health and care needs. Because you’re with young people for most of the day (or night), you’ll be a vital part of the team that enables them to achieve their full potential.

Regardless of your experience level, we will work with you to develop your skills and confidence in the role. Every Support Worker is given an extensive induction which includes group based classroom training.

So, if you’re looking for a caring and rewarding environment to work in, then this is the perfect role for you.
