Salary - £16,969.65 annual salary (FTE £21,255.00)

 

Bridge College is the first step to an independent, happy adult life for our learners.

Based in Manchester, we offer specialist education for students aged 16 to 25 with learning difficulties, disabilities, complex health needs and autism. Every day we provide personalised support, tailored learning and hands-on life skills to give young people the confidence to exceed their aspirations.

 

Main Responsibilities

You will provide support for students in their learning programmes – including extended curriculum, external placements and visits, 1-1 and small group sessions – under direction of a session tutor.

 


You will be required to provide support for students including the full range of communication systems, eating and drinking, personal care, mobility, medication and therapy subject to supervision and training.

 


You will be required to respect and support students’ rights to adulthood and independence, personal dignity, privacy, equality and opportunities to make progress in their lives.

About you & Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Good general education and good written English
  • Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Experience of working with people who have learning disabilities and/or complex physical needs and/or autism would be desirable
  • Knowledge of the needs of students with learning difficulties and complex needs and how to support them would be desirable
  • A thorough understanding of what constitutes effective support for students with learning difficulties
